Ceyone brought in containers of liquid which he requested to be put in the freezer in the morning ready for his show and tell in the afternoon. When we took them out we discovered they liquid had frozen solid and it was ice-cream! While enjoying our ice-cream we watched it begin to melt and discussed the changes that had taken place, learning new vocabulary reversible and irreversible. Tyler showed us an example of a dehumidifier that he uses at home. This is an excellent example to support our 3rd line of inquiry 'manipulating matter for everyday problems'. He showed us a photo of a before and after picture, a lot of water gets absorbed over time. We were very curious about how it works and will explore one in the class next week. We learned about the word absorb with a water and sponge demonstration.
