Ian was a risk-taker and chose to be the first to present for show and tell in Grade One. He shared a selection of photographs with us and told us what emotions they showed. There was happy, excited, scared and loved. We had some interesting discussions about the emotions people can have when looking at photos as well as why people take photos. We talked about memories, both happy and sad and that photography is a special way of expressing emotions. Coco was a thinker and chose to combine her spelling homework with her show and tell. She used cut out letters to build her spelling words. She explained that at first she felt tired because she was making each letter by hand but then her mum found some stickers and it was much easier. Then she felt happy. At the end Coco explained she was proud of her completed work. Imran was a communicator when he explained all about his visit to a flight simulator with his dad. He said at first he was really scared and nervous because he thought it was real and he was going to crash. He explained he was also really excited because he couldn’t wait to touch the switches. At the end when he had finished in the flight simulator he felt really happy.
