Ms. Shradha started off our community Show and Tell round by sharing about a health camp which she volunteered at in India. 4000 volunteers work together for 3 days. The roles of people involved were medical, cooks and distributers of food, medicines, soaps, quilts, clothes and shoes. She also showed us an example of one of the quilts that gets distributed to the people. There is a group of ladies and men that work together in Singapore to make the quilts and then send them to India. We saw pictures of many people working together to help sew one quilt.
Keshav shared his gold medal which he won with a partner in a gymnastics competition. Gymcraft is a company which works in the community to support and teach children gymnastics.
Ella shared about the role of police in the community. She said they had many roles including catching robbers, directing traffic if the traffic lights are broken, helping lost children to find their parents, visiting schools, helping old people to carry bags. Keshav said they also protect Singapore. Amanda asked why Ella had drawings instead of photos. Ella explained that her sister helped to draw the pictures.
Swini showed us her toy doctor set and how she cares for her dolls by listening to their heartbeat, giving them injections and putting cream on sores. We discussed the importance of doctors in the community and shared about some visits to the doctor. Zahin also talked about his mum going to the doctor when he was born.
Amanda shared about the role of gardeners in the community. She showed pictures of people looking after plants in a park. One was watering the plants and another was cutting the grass.
