We did a lunch box investigation and sorted out what we already knew about our lunches and noted our wonderings help us try and discover more about the food we eat. We want to know about countries that our food comes from and how some foods grow. We also are interested in healthy foods. After our trip to Hay Dairy we read a book about cows milk and found out that cream is part of milk. We were then given a small jar of cream and were told we would have to shake it for a long time. We predicted it might change colour, go fluffy, go watery and thin or even explode! After a lot of shaking it turned harder and some liquid separated. We had several ideas about what we had made. These included cheese, egg, cake and the correct answer butter. Next we spread some of our homemade butter on bread to give it a taste. Most of us enjoyed it, a few of us didn't like the taste but were all risk takers and gave it a go.
